SAVE #209, Officer Michael Terry – Westland Police Department Westland MI

Just before entering a house on a “family disturbance” call, Officer Terry heard a women’s screams and shooting. As he opened the door, a woman lay dead on the floor with her husband pointing a .357 less than two feet from Terry’s lower stomach area. Instinctively, Terry lowered the hand in which he was holding his nightstick, just as the gun exploded. The magnum round tore through Terry’s hand, ricocheted off his nightstick and slammed into his Second Chance® vest. The impact lifted him off the floor. As he crawled to safety, his partner, also wearing a Second Chance® vest, shot and killed the armed assailant.

We welcome Officer Michael Terry, SAVE #209, to The Safariland Group SAVES CLUB®.
